Incident Details:
On August 8, 2025, Fire Police Captain Ed Margavich responded with the Third District Volunteer Fire Company to a vehicle fire that spread to a house. After directing traffic at the scene for a while, Fire Police Captain Margavich was walking to a nearby fire station to get additional equipment when he fell and broke his femur.
He was transferred to a trauma center and underwent emergency surgery. Due to complications related to the injury, however, Fire Police Captain Maravich passed away on August 15, 2025.
